CANOPY - NATIONAL COALITION OF TREE GROUPS

Canopy first meeting. (this meeting was recorded - can be shared to those interested)

Our first Canopy meeting happened on 13 November 2023 with folks from the Bristol Tree Forum, Sheffield., Plymouth, Wellingborough, Holt Tree Oak and London joined us for a discussion about how we take first steps in lobbying for a change in the law. We discussed different legal actions happening in groups, legal personhood for trees, lobbying sympathetic MPs and political parties ahead of the next election for their plans for trees/developers, centralising some core resources and talking to our contacts to try to start feeding in ideas for policy change and what that would look like. We meet again in Dec/Jan.
