Film maker Jo Syz and independent news group Real Media have made several short films about our direct actions, interviews and poetic homages to trees in Haringey. The recordings below also feature deputations (3min presentations) to Haringey council which are also important for raising awareness of local issues.

Insurer Allianz made £12billion profit in 2023

The Oakfield Plane is at the centre of two long running claims by insurers, Allianz and Aviva. The insurance industry habitually blames trees in damage to houses - at the moment in law a tree only has to be implicated in a case to be felled. Simply put, since the 1970s, billionaire pound profit insurance companies have gradually established enough case precedents in law (civil or so-called 'tort' law) so they can avoid paying to underpin houses in subsidence claims. Insurers, using their own unchallenged arboricultural reports, have engineered a situation where they can pass costs for underpinning onto councils rather than paying for the work themselves - councils who usually can't or won't pay.
